Service

TerpAMA Serves
Each Semester TerpAMA (the Maryland division of the American Marketing Association) serves the community in various ways. We serve at two primary businesses, Dress For Success and Adround the World. I have helped create Thanksgiving baskets, helped prepare for a open air market, designed posters, organized storage units, and assisted in manual labor. What is most rewarding is meeting the people I am helping and knowing that I am making a change in their lives.

Happy Helpers
Every Sunday I make my way down to Annapolis where I help make sandwiches and bagged lunches for the Stanton Center in Annapolis. The team of 4 and I make 300 sandwhiches, open 300 paper bags and put chips, fruit snacks, and condiments in every bag. I love the opportunity to share my Chick-fil-a bagging skills with friends and enjoy the memories this brings back.

Summer Build at the Refuge
For three summers in a row I went down to Ayden, North Carolina where I helped to create a camp for future students. I participated in team building activities, trail blazing, construction, painting, and obstacle course designing. I left each time as a changed man, learning new skills and meeting new people.

Lighthouse Shelter Christmas Party
A team and I planned and executed a Christmas party for the children of the Lighthouse Shelter. We had music, candy house building, cookie decorating, a meal, and a planned surprise gift give away for the kids.

Rebuilding Together
I spent a whole day working on a less fortunate community member's home. A team and I helped to build the family a new shed, a new deck, and patch their roof.
