I am a multicultural and multitalented self-starter who is motivated by sharing perspectives to create understanding. In everything I do I aim to serve others, lead by example, learn, and grow in my understanding of the differences in the world. People follow leaders because they want to, not because they have to. They buy why you do it, not what you do. Thus I make sure that everything I do reflects my why, which is to learn, share and grow.

 

I am currently 20 years old, a senior at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, and about to pursue my Masters in supply chain management next semester. I am in pursuit of a B.S. in marketing and supply chain with a minor in business analytics.  Further more I am in pursuit of my own learning experiences outside of the classroom through events, traveling, my small business and varied experiential learning opportunities.

 

I believe the best learning comes about when I am passionate about the topic and am in on the action. Academics are great, but I always lean toward creating opportunities for myself to try something out, possibly fail, and learn from the failure. I strive for experiences like this that are in diverse settings because I want to grow my understandings of the differences in the world. I believe it will help me to be a better critical thinker, better innovator and more sympathetic individual.

 

My ultimate career goal is to help companies expand internationally in a way that represents the culture of the area they are entering in order to create a successful launch. By understanding the local culture, environment, values and beliefs both the business and the customers can benefit.

 

I grew up in a mixed French and American household with a French father. I grew up learning French at home and took 5 years of Spanish at school. This is where I believe my curiosity and desire to understand others comes from. When you know a language you have the ability to see the world through another lens. I enjoy working with my hands, creating things and being innovative. I have my own start up where the goal is to ultimately improve the recycling process and improve my community one customer at a time.

 

My strengths are in organization, strategic approach, creativity, reliability and leadership. As a small business consultant, fellow student and friend I seek to use my experiences to help others through their situations. I want to put smiles on faces, share in the benefits I have received and remind people that perception is more important than intentions or actions. I am driven by my desire to grow, the commitments I make, the opportunities I create and the potential for change.  

 

I am looking for a position that enables my self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit through autonomy and respect for authority. I love working on teams, thinking about strategy and providing customer service that goes beyond expectations. My goal in life is to WOW anyone I meet in any way, whether it is through a fun fact, my energy, my ideas, my listening skills or any of my strengths. I am not afraid of a challenge. In fact, challenge sparks my curiosity.

 

I share my personality and strengths with you because I believe cultural fit and soft skills are more important than technical skills. I can learn technical skills if need be, and I will do it on my own time if need be, but for any candidate, learning soft skills and fitting in is more challenging.
