Business and Information Technology Society (BITS)

Vice President of Finance and Co VP of Marketing

Formulated a plan to reestablish a working budget for the Business and Information Technology Society. I was put in charge of developing an initial budget and producing funds through 3 fundraising events per semester. I analyze past expenses and future needs of the club to properly forecast financial needs and allocate funds, considering last semester there was no budget. I have redesigned the logo and am working with my Co-marketer to establish our membership base and learn how to get their attention. I manage the Twitter account and create awareness for weekly events.

As an RA I will be responsible for a forty person floor; the educational, recreational, social, and cultural programming, as well as policy enforcement, conflict resolution, and diversity issues in a 4.7 million dollar facility. I will also have the opportunity to change lives. I love the opportunity to improve my leadership skills and meet such a diverse group of people.

Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA)

New Student Involvment Chair

As New Student Involvement Chair I increased student involvement and eased the transistion process for new Smith School students. I planned bi-weekly events to ease students into the business school and develop their professional and soft skills. I fielded weekly emails in excess of 20 conversations and responded quickly to ensure a pleasant experience. I also used Microsoft Excel to manage newletter sign ups. I improved upon my emotional intelligence and enjoyed helping students to get the most out of Smith.

Student Action Leadership Team (SALT)

I was the leader of 25 eighth graders with whom I facilitated small group discussion. I helped students to develop a new community, inspired them to think critically, and taught them to rely on each other for support. In addition to being a leader I was part of a greater team that would organize and direct games and events such as Aqua Olympics, Movie Night, Club 678, a Christmas party, and more. The best part of this posistion was that I was surrounded by a group of people who had the same passion as me and was able to help each other grow.
